My Little Guy's Visit to Bebbenburg

My Little Guy had become very interested in castles since our visit to Middleham and was excited to see the wonderful fortresses in Northumberland. Unfortunately, when we got there, we found many were closed for the winter.

Warkworth was closed.

As was the priory and castle on Holy Island (Lindisfarne)

But Dundstanburg, which was the most remote and only accessable after a long walk along the coast, was open.

Finally we arrived at Bamburgh (Bebbanburg)

The castle was closed to the public so I left Guy to visit his friend, Lord Uhtred and went for a walk along the beach.

It may look sunny, but it was freezing and I was jealous of Guy having afternoon tea with his friends.

I walked back and found the boys on the sand. Lord Uhtred was trying to explain the finer points of castle building to Guy who was busy writing.
