Spook 7 will begin airing on the New York PBS station, WLIW, beginning Wednesday, 21st September at 9pm.

The narration from Fraud Squad episodes 1 and 2, narrated by Richard, have been added to our Media -Narration page.

A replay of the National Geographic program, "Leopards of Dead Tree Island", narrated by Richard and which aired in the US on 25th August, will be shown on the National Geographic UK's Television Channel some time in October. "A dramatic, real-life tale of three leopards plays out in Botswana's Okavango Delta. What unfolds is an in-depth look into their lives; following the tension, drama and, in the end, heart-wrenching tragedy, as all three seek a common goal - to dominate one of the Okavango's most prized leopard territories." "Star Wars: the Complete Saga" will be released on blu-ray, 12th September. It will include "The Phantom Menace", Richard's first, 'blink and you'll miss me', film role.

According to the Courier Mail, Channel 7 in Oz will be airing Strike Back 2 in 2012. (Thanks Byng)

Metacafe.com added an interview with Richard by David Stephenson of the Sunday Express about Spooks 9 to its website on 28th August, 2011. From the content the interview took place while Richard was filming episode 1 and talks a bit about that episode as well as a little bit about episode 2 and Spooks in general. We have now added the transcripts to our Library. It's a 3-page transcript and you can navigate through it using the Library's thumbnails.

Richard is included in the contents for issue 9 (presumably the next issue) for Recognise Magazine, which has posted on its Facebook page that it has been moving during the last 2 months.

Richard has received a nice mention in this month's Naxos blog. Referring to his role as Heinz Kruger in Captain America, Nicolas Soames writes:

"There was Richard Armitage – but in a ‘baddy’ role – a far cry from the actor we know and admire for his presentation of pastiche Regency romances. There was Richard shooting people and driving a car wildly through the streets trying to mow down the hero. But we know him as a man who quietly, and generally on a Saturday, slopes in to read a Georgette Heyer and entertain thousands of his followers around the world." (Thanks to Monetsmum and AnnetteG)

The British TV Podcast #99 (produced in the US) features a review of Richard's career. Richard's section starts at about 22.04. The first 20 minutes of the podcast are taken up with talking about an icecream that can be found in the UK, then moves on to Japanese Kit Kats. They talk a bit about a visit one of them is making to London and the plays she wants to see there. Then they review their most recent epi of Dr Who and Dr Who Confidential, then they recap the forthcoming week's British television schedule. THEN, they get to Richard and that's about 20 minutes. What's great is they use audio clips from Sparkhouse (describing John Standring as the local veterinarian), Vicar of Dibley, Robin Hood, Spooks and the Hobbit press conference.

A spokesman for Peter Jackson has confirmed that filming on second block of The Hobbit began last week and will finish in December.

Richard will be narrating a new 2-part series entitled, Fraud Squad. It will air on ITV on Friday, 26th August at 9pm. The investigation into one of Britain's biggest share frauds, following detectives hoping to recover £20million stolen from victims as they hunt for the Nigerian ringleader, 30-year-old George Abrue. Over the course of 18 months, officers discover Abrue has numerous false identities, launders his cash with the help of corrupt bankers and has criminals working for him across Europe to fuel his lavish lifestyle. Cinemax has put up the first six minutes of the first episode of Strike Back 2 on youtube. It begins airing on Friday, August 12 at 10pm on Cinemax in the US and on HBO in Canada.

Recognise Magazine posted today on Facebook that issue 9 with the photoshoot of Richard will be published near the end of the month. So it appears they have worked through the dissolution problems.

Sky has announced that Strike Back 2 will begin airing on Sunday, 21 August. In the US & Canada, it begins on Friday, 12 August on Cinemax.

There's a nice little 'nod' to Richard as Heinz Kruger in ComicBookMovie's very extensive and favourable review of Captain America. Read, or scroll, down to the paragraph beginning, "The HYDRA soldiers ... ".

Sky has released its UK trailer for Strike Back 2 and Cultbox.co.uk has uploaded it to its website. It's pretty much the same as the US one.

Empire Magazine has published 'The Men Behind the Makeup: The Dwarves of the Hobbit,' which compares the Hobbit actors to their Dwarf counterparts. The article says of Thorin, "Next to Bilbo, he's probably the most complex and interesting character in the entire book." (Thanks to Khandy at C19)

Anglophenia has a very favourable review of Captain America with a brief mention of "handsome Richard Armitage" (scroll down towards the end of the article).

Jasper Reeves of the Telegraph talks to Richard about Captain America, "I'm a bit mean. I haven't got a nice guy's face". The 3-page article has been uploaded to our Library. Just click on the thumbnails to expand the page and move through the article.

We've added some select high res caps from the Hobbit blog #3 to our Gallery Salon.

We have extracted about 1.34 seconds of Richard bits from the most recent Hobbit vid blog and uploaded them to our YT channel. The editing's a bit lumpy in places. We're expecting lots of practice :)

WireImage has uploaded some lovely pictures of Richard at the Visa Captain America screening. You will need to register to get passed the thumbnails.

Peter Jackson has uploaded a third Hobbit video blog. We have the caps in the Gallery.

We have uploaded our transcripts of Richard's Captain America Red Carpet interviews to our Library. The first, the Marvel interview is HERE. It is a 3-page interview, click on the thumbnails to move through it. And the second, Associated Press interview is HERE. It is a 2-page interview.

Richard appeared on the Red Carpet and was interviewed by Marvel and Associated Press.

Richard is included in the list of the cast attending Hollywood's Red Carpet opening for Captain America. The event will be streamed live on Marvel.com on Tuesday July 19, from 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. ET. There will be a special charity premiere of the movie at the Odeon One in Liverpool on July 27. The Liverpool Echo is offering ONE PAIR OF FREE TICKETS. There is no information yet as to whether Richard will be there. Tickets for the special screening went on sale for £20 on July 15 - you never know, there may still be some left. (Thanks to Biscuit for alerting us to the Liverpool event.)

The Dominion Post reviews Strike Back which begins airing in New Zealand on Thursday at 8:30 on Prime TV. The reviewer says she's "prepared to hang in for it to redeem itself before dumping, but it's only out of respect for Armitage's performance in Spooks." Warning: major spoiler about Spooks 9. The article also includes a new picture of Richard from the Hobbit press conference from February, 2011.

The 8 part Series 3 of Homes from Hell, narrated by Richard Armitage, begins on ITV1 and ITV1 HD on Tuesday, 12th July at 9.00 pm.
